How can I find a job with a history of criminal activity even though it was long ago?

I've got a pretty ugly past. When potential employers run a background check they get pages of theft and drugs. It was a long time ago. I've been straight for so long but all I can get is temp work. Have any of you climbed out of this situation successfully? My family is burned out. I'm on my own and that's fine but I just need to know how I can move on and get past this. I just need one person to give me a chance. I'm not the person I was then. Any ideas anyone?

if its been 3 years since u were off of paper, you can esponge your record. you pay a lawyer, i think its about 300 dollars now, and they look at your record and can seal it. this way, on your application, you can legally say you have no felonies, and your background will show clean. If you ever get in trouble again, your background does show up in court, but not to employers. hope this helps |

I know someone in the same situation as you. He went to a place who he now works with troubled youth, so they say. Like a lock up facility for youth who are under the age of 18 and have been in trouble with the law. Pretty good money to. Hopefully something like that around your way. |

First, be 100% honest. Put everything on the table, accept responsibility and don't make excuses for what you did. And then you have to look them in the eye and just tell them "look, it happened, and I'm not proud of it but I can't go back and change it." Be persistent and you will find someone that will give you a chance. I wish you luck. |

Its a long proses. You made a mess of your life long ago but you shouldn't be punished for it for the rest of your life. Just keep taking the temp jobs and not messing up on them eventually someone will see that you are doing better. Just don't give up. If you want to better yourself go back to school and better your education that will help to. I am sure state agency can help too. No one wants you to stay unemployed so don't give up. I know this isn't helpful but its the only thing i can sugest. I hope everything works out take care and good luck. |

My advice to u is not to give up but keep on believing, keep trying. There's something about us people in that we always keep bringing up the past,we don't give people a chance to prove themselves and recognize the good in them. Don't give up believing in yourself and take it to the lord in prayer.Nothing is impossible with him.
ALL THE BEST IN YOUR ENDEAVOURS.
PS:most so call home business are just scams, but i found a legitimate program where u just has to invest a one time payment of$5.00five dollars and u can make a few hundred every month and increasing ... If u may u can check out this link at http://www.funinmlm.com/member.JISL?cd2779 |
