How can I get fired from my job at KFC legally?

My manager is harassing and vindictive and I just want to get fired from this loser job.My manager has cut me down to 10 hours a week when she told my cseworker that I would be working 25 hours a week now I cant even afford to pay my rent and bills and all my manager can say is "you do not meet my standards".The place is grimy anyway they tell you not to eat but I see them eating stuff all the time, the still havent ordered my shoes for crews that I have to wear so I dont bust my @%& on the floor, and they are trying to imply that I am stealing even though I have never been at work when the theft has occured.I just want to be fired so it doesnt affect my life in the negative way it has affected me.Can anyone give me some good advice please?

When you say caseworker I am assuming you are on public assistance. If this is the case obviously you cannot quit since you will lose your benefit. Have you spoken to your caseworker? Have you told him/her what's going on? Explain to them the conditions you are working under especially the shoe situation where you are in danger of injuring yourself. Forget about the manager firing you. Each time any place of employment hires a felon or public assistance recipient they get tax breaks. At most you can threaten this manager that you are going to file a formal complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on the grounds of discriminition and hostile work environment. Although this may not be true, but say I know I am being discriminated against because I am on public assistance and my other co-workers are NOT be subjected to this type of abuse. Lets see how he/she would like to be without a job. If you are fired it can certainly be viewed as a form of retaliation and then you really have grounds to pursue legal action against them.

Why don't you just quit? Quitting is going to have less of a negative impact on you that getting yourself fired.

I mean, if I were a potential employer and I saw that you got yourself fired, I wouldn't hire you... especially if you did it on purpose.

If you're trying to scam unemployment, you need to be aware that in most states "willful misconduct" (like getting yourself fired on purpose) will disqualify you from collecting unemployment benefits.

Ok i would tell you to quit but you said something about your "caseworker" which means im going to assume you're on welfare or social assistance and are being forced to work in order to get your check. Im guessing that's why you can't quite. Why don't you just tell your caseworker what's going on? He/she might be able to do something about it. Or maybe try looking for another job or have your caseworker help you look for another job, that way you can leave this job without getting fired.

Ditto what Ed D said. I work in Human Resources and he is 100% right. You're better off quitting professionally instead of burning your bridges...especially in this economy!

If you have taken (or were placed in) a job mandated by a caseworker, and that job had specific criteria that needed to be met (25 hrs/week, uniform, etc) then the caseworker should know what's going on. At the same time, I'd be looking for a new job on my own were I in your situation.

Lastly, getting fired is rarely the better choice. If you want to salvage yourself on the way out, when your manager says "you don't meet my standards", ask professionally, "What do I need to do to meet the standards? And are there any standards written down so that I can read them? That puts the onus on them to be a manager and tells them (whether or not you do) that you care about your job, and your integrity.

PRobably not the answer you are looking for, but it's based in life experience and fact.
