How can I go about suing Itt Tech?

When I first went to Itt Tech both my parents , my husband and his parents were told that our credits would transfer to any college of our choice but now after graduating nothing transfers and my diploma doesn't even count. We spent so much money there and we have to pay it back even if we can't do anything with the damn degree. It does not seem right that Itt Tech can get by with Fraud. Any lawyers in Texas that could give me some advice? Thank you!

did they make it clear to you that they were not an accredited institution. They should post this information everywhere. If so, I'm surprised you didnt look at their accreditation before you went, thats the #1 thing i looked for in a private school. You need to gather all the information from all your class catalogs for any disclaimers stating their accreditation, compare it to other private schools such as devry in dallas or irving, Art Institute of dallas, etc. According to Wikipedia, ITT Tech is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. It does not have regional accreditation; thus, most regionally accredited or traditional universities and colleges do not accept ITT Tech's credits for transfer and do not recognize its undergraduate degrees for entry into graduate programs. So call your state universities especially UTD, UTAustin, to see if they can work with you rather than dismiss you, you can still do a "interdisplinary degree" which you can customized to your need, and I have looked into it before at UT Arlington and they worked with me. But I ended up going to Capella University online, and i loved it. The only thing i regret is Capella was very expensive!!! Sorry i dont have the exact name of a lawyer, but this has happened before in the houston area, there maybe willing to take your case. Also, contact SMU JD student lawyers to see if there is someone can assist you pro bono. Also, contact your local news station to see if they can introduce your story to the media, especially since schools are about to start and your story may help prospective students. Definitely look into the "interdisciplinary degree", I hope UT system still offer it.

Did they guarantee in writing that the credits would transfer?

NO school can make the claim that their credits will transfer to any college, since each school makes their own decisions as to what they will accept.

Sorry, your case is probably pretty weak unless you have it in writing.

they tell you the credits do not transfer on tv. did you get that the credits transfer in writing.
