How can a person transfer Workman's comp to another state?

If a person is on Workman's comp and wants to move to another state, can they transfer the case ie case manager, doctor's, recovery plan, etc? I have a friend that is on comp and wants to move to an area where employment is stronger and more probable upon recovery. Does he have to wait to be released before moving or can he make the move in advance of reaching a Medical End Result,,,Thank you

it will depend on the INSURANCE CARRIER (state of residence is not an issue it is state of the employer). there are a couple of states where the state is the actual insurance carrier, much like unemployment, but there are only a VERY few of them.
in almost every state workers comp is private insurance carried by the business and regulated by the state; all payment scales/settlements are based on state guidelines but do not use any state funds.
all/any laws/regulations of the state where he worked when the injury took place will continue to apply and any settlement will be based on that state's laws. if he has any permanent limitations (disability) that state's vocational guidelines will be used to determine his functional capacity.

No it cannot be transferred. The Employer pays into that fund in the State the company is located in. If this fellow moves he will have to return whenever called upon by Workman's Comp |
