How can i leave my verbally abusive boss out of my resume?

How can i leave my verbally abusive boss out of my resume?

My boss, for the past 5 months have been verbally abusive. I have asked him to stop, but it still continues. I have had him yell at me infront of customers and he even uses swears to bully me.
I since have made legal action....but this job is my only clerical experience. I KNOW that he will never give me a good reference based on my job (i think he will find ways to make it sound like i am a bad employee)...so i am wondering what should i do when im appying for another job?

You don't have to list your references on your resume, but list this most recent job and the skills you used there. Just be sure to have a list of at least 3 good references when the time comes to provide them to a potential employer.

If they ask if they can speak to your last employer, you can tell them that you would prefer they didn't (don't go into great detail), but if they insist on calling him, there is nothing you can do about it. Just keep a positive attitude. A potential employer should see through any bad evaluation when you have glowing reports from 3 past employers.

Good luck

Go on applying your new job with memtioning your those bad experiences with that abusive boss. This type of experiences are best omitted in any of your future resumes.

I have taken a lot of job hunting improvement classes and there is a way around this. If you had any friends or co workers at this job you can list them as a contact instead of the boss. Just be honest and do not pass off the friend as a boss. Just say you think your old boss may have left if the interviewer asks. I have had to do this, and it works really well.

You are in a difficult position aren't you. You got your last position without experience you can do it again, and in light of what has happened it may be best not to mention it.
Don't let it stop you keep going forward you will get there.

You do not list the boss only the job on the resume. You should include that you worked for this particular company. However, you do not put the bosses name or phone number for contact. You should, on the job application, list this company but only put the phone number and contact info of the Human Resources department. If you leave off a place that you worked and a new employer finds out, they may feel that you have lied to them and that causes even more problems.

Don't give them your boss's contact, and let others handle the matter instead.

I would still include this employer on your resume'. In your next job interview simple state your title and your daily activities and nothing else. No need to offer information to a perspective employer if their not asking. Most of the time employers don't even check references. Don't you make negative comments about this employer either. Some perspective employers may be turned off and not sympathetic with your situation. Remember employers are still people each one still forms their own opinions. So my advice offer limited information and no more. Hope this helped.

About the only thing a former boss will do in the line of references is verify you worked there, starting and ending date, and verify your job title. No more.
So, put him name down, and even though he is a flaming idiot, he can't hurt you with a bad recommendation.

When you get an intervierew, they may ask ": If I were to ask your former employee about you, what would they say."
So, what would you like for boss to say about you? How about " is pleasant to be around, and always gets her work done on time, and her work is always done properly."
