How can someone become a Crime Scene Investigator?

If you become a Crime Scene Investigator, do you have to become a police officer?? What is the job outlook like..what do they do? What is the salary like? What are the responsibilities? Do they also work with Forensics? How is the schooling like?

You do not have to become a police officer necessarily. Those who investigate crimes are either officers or those who have some discipline in forensics. Getting a degree in Criminal justice is an excellent step for both fields. There are some CJ degrees which prepare you for law school, some for law force entry and some more along the lines of forensics. It is important for you to figure out which field most interests you.
