How do I get a job where I was wrongfully fired off my record?
Find answers to your legal question.

How do I get a job where I was wrongfully fired off my record?

I was terminated on January 2nd (funny because they had me work both Christmas and New Years), and the little paper they gave me was all lies. I didn't particularly like the manager anyway and was looking for new jobs, but I don't want it to be on my record. Is there anyway I can get it off of my employment history without having to go to court?

Ever had to sign for a "consumer report" while interviewing for a job? They might also call it a background check. Potential employers do check your records to see what you've been up to, and previous jobs show up.

There isn't some magic "employment history" out there to "get it off" of. There are tons of ways they could find out where you worked before, sometimes just through personal contacts. So no, you can't prevent that, and couldn't even if you went to court, there's no way to do it.

You are your employment history. Just don't tell your next employer that you ever worked there.

No, an employer has the right to fire you for whatever reason they want, it doesn't have to be a good reason, and it doesn't have to be right. It would be foolish to take a company to court for something as petty as this. Just move on.

What 'employment history'? New employers will want to know your most recent jobs, and they may ask for references. With such a recent job, you will have to explain why you left. Be factual, be brief. If you go into too much detail you'll end up sounding bitter and troublesome (not what a new employer is looking for).

Other than you yourself listing jobs, there is no real 'record' to worry about. You should always list all jobs, especially ones you've had for any length of time, but when asked for reason for leaving you may have to be careful.

Record? I am not quite sure what you mean by that. But, i just wouldn't use them as a reference. You can choose to put that you worked at a certain place, but the company that you are applying to has to get your permission to contact them. If you refuse and they ask why, just tell them because of "professional differences" or something like that. (someone once told me exactly what to say, but it escapes me know)

Try Labour/Employment Standards - the province you live in should have a website with the appropriate forms to assist you in doing this.
With the Freedom of Information Act in Canada, former employers are greatly reduced in what they can/cannot say about a person!!!!!!!!!!! I would suggest looking at labour standards as they specific specifics.
