How do I start my appeal?

Check contract / employment manual for rights.

If you were acting under direct supervision whilst breaking this rule point this out. If so was supervisor disciplined if not was this different treatment discriminatory?

How long have you been employed? What pre training were you given?
Where is the rule you supposedly broke stated?

Appeal asking them to set out in writing the grounds for your termination.

You should have had a letter informing you of the decision to terminate your employment. In this letter it should state how and where to appeal to, usually in writing within 7 days of getting the letter and the person should be named as to who you are going to appeal to. You said you did something not knowing it was wrong to do. In this case, where is their proof that you knowingly done this, have you saigned a document saying you would not do this. If you have not I think you may have them. It is unlikley that you will get your job back but you will have a strong case to sue them and start legal proceedings. It is expensive for a comapny to go to court ( approx Â£10,000) so it will be more than likley that will settle out of court. Just hold your nerve and you will be ok. When you appeal ask them some questions as to how this rule was explained to you when you were employed, ask them where is the proof that this was explained to you, signed documents etc, has any other person done the same and not been sacked. Make them uneasy by asking anything and everything, also ask them about setting you up just to sack you. Possibly constructive dismisall... Hope this helped you a little. UK - www.acas.co.uk how long have you been employed by them? if it is less than 2 years i don't think there is much you can do but phone ACAS or check their website for details,

depending on the state you are in, it may be a lost cause. some states are 'at will' states when it comes to employment - which means you can be fired (let go) for any reason and for NO reason. you could contact an employment attorney, but it doesn't sound like you will get your job back anyhow.
