How do i become a lawyer?

hi there

I have a Bsc in Psychology already (I didn't finish my honours as i realised it wasn't for me) and I would like to study to become a lawyer.

I understand there are a couple of ways to go about doing this e.g. going back to study or becoming a paralegal. Does anyone have any idea what you need to do either of these options?

Thanks!

The next step is best to find a good law school. Contrary to popular belief, lawyers are not all slime, and there are jobs out there -- but some areas are saturated pretty well.

You will need 3 years of law school - independent study as a paralegal is not necessarily going to get you into the bar exam -- From the Bar Admission Requirements Guide: "Each applicant should be required to have completed all requirements for graduation with a J.D. or LL.B. degree from a law school approved by the American Bar Association before being eligible to take a bar examination, and to have graduated therefrom before being eligible for admission to practice. Neither private study,
correspondence study or law office training, nor age or experience should be substituted for law school education."

The ABA website has a lot of resources too.

Becoming a paralegal also involves some more studying (ILEX course), but this wont make you a lawyer.
If you actually want to practise law, you will need to do a degree conversion course and either the bar, or solicitors, exam to qualify.

Take the LSAT and apply to Law School.

look at the core education requirements...how many of those have you met..then pick up what you need and get the degree...then pass the bar...

Go to law school, study, graduate, study, pass the bar.

you don't want to become a lawyer, with the market out there you'll never find a job. trust me. i would maybe try something in counseling if i were you. maybe a high school counselor.

learn how to charge people exorbitant fees for little work and keep a straight face, then have your brains removed -you will be well on your way.why the hell would you want to become a member of the lowest profession in the world-go out and get a proper job.

First try meeting some people and screwing them really bad. If that feels good, then you've passed the first step.
