How do i make up a contract about a television we bought together?

for xmas my bf and i bought a tv for 1000 dollars..i put in 600 and he 400. it was my idea to get it for him but he wanted to help pay some of it. heres the thing, we dont live together and for his parents piece of mind i want to make a contract so he knows i wont steal it if we break up. i really could care less about it.

so is there a place to find writen agreements?

thanks a lot!

all you ned is to write out this TV was a gift given to ---------- on this day--------------- and both sign it make 3 copies one for him one for you one for a parent to hang on to and that's enough to keep both parties safe. You must both sign it and have a third party also as a witness if you want to sign it also.

You can just put something in writing stating that the TV was a gift for Christmas.

Make sure its notarized and dated and both signatures on it.

As the other people stated, just write something up yourselves and have it notarized. To protect yourself make sure you put how much you paid for the TV as a whole and how much you personally contributed to it. You may not care about the TV right now, but should something happen in the future it would be considered an asset unless you truly mean it as a gift. If that is the case, make sure to indicate that in the agreement. Also, make sure to include a contingency on what happens to the TV should you break up, that way it is just covered.
