How does one deal with being fired on resume?

You don't. There is no requirement that says you have to put down a reason for leaving a job on a resume. Heck, you don't even really have to put that job down on a resume if you don't want to, but you have to be careful about that because it can come back to bite you. If you do list that job and they ask about it, you can say that you left by mutual agreement over pay/time off issues or personality conflicts or something like that. Just be careful not to say anything negative about your previous employer -- that's a clue to the interviewer that you may be a malcontent with an axe to grind, and that hurts your chances of getting hired.

You should never put the reason why you left a position on your resume. That is something that comes out during an interview process, and when asked why you left your job, you should always tell the truth. State you were let go, why, and what you learned from the experience.

As for the resume, how long were you at your position? If this is a matter of weeks I would say don't even bother with it. But if you were there for months or years, deffinately put it on there. Make sure you list your accomplishments there, so if you do get asked why you left, you can always point those out as well, to turn a negative into a positive.

You should not list on a resume why you where terminated just your dates of employment. In many states as a potential employer you can not ask for that information anyways. Just write only your dates of employment, supervisor, job description, and the name of the company that employed you. Leave the discussion for the interview.

You don't have to include that on your resume. Just include the dates you started, ended and your job duties. Now in an interview an interviewer may ask why you left your last job, you can say that your leaving was a mutual agreement between you and your supervisor. Don't bad mouth your old supervisor to potential employers

One does not. One lists one's titles, duties, dates of employment, and previous employers.

In an interview, one can either be honest and state that you left by mutual agreement, or one can fudge and state that one was pursuing opportunities that offered more growth potential, more chances of sleeping in, or whatever the situation was. It kind of depends on why you were fired. The only caveat here is if the prospective employer contacts the past employer to verify your employment and is told that you are not eligible for rehire, it could scotch your chances for the job.

Hope this helps.

Depends, if you weren't there very long, leave it off, if you made some accomplishments (other than industrial espionage) then list it. Reason for leaving, "down sized" "layed off" "to take another appointment" "to go back to school" "temporary job"

Include it on the resume if leaving it off means that you will have a time gap to explain. Being fired is not necessarily a black mark on your resume. Good people lose their jobs simply because they were a bad fit at a certain company - it happens every day. At the interview you will need to provide a plausible answer for the inevitable question of why you left the job. Be factual, yet spin the facts in your favor without making personal attacks on your previous employer. Good luck in your job search.
