How far can a company look into your criminal history?

For clarification, how many years does a company look back for a background check?

Usually most jobs will look about 7 years into your criminal record. But some will vary.

It varies by the company, what the job entails, is it a bonded position,
any job that an employee having a criminal record that could lead to the company being sued. To many variables to give you a definite answer
