How hard is it for a felon to find work?

How hard would it be for someone convicted of a white-collar felony to get a job and support a family?

It will be much tougher than you might think. The ultimate point of which you must convince the prospective employer, is that the person who made those self destructive decisions back then is not the 'you' now. There are a number of ways to do this. One of the ways I taught ex- to do this was to offer to work for a reduced ammount for X weeks (or, even for nothing if you can afford it) to prove yourself. Volunteer to extend the probationary employee period...remind the employer that he may qualify for a rebate (small as it is) for hiring an ex-...etc. Don't give up no matter what. Discouragement should be a motivator for you. learn to accept alot of no's on your way to yes. Good luck in all you do. NEVER GIVE UP....NEVER.

Much much harder. You're up against people who don't have a criminal record. Why would someone trust you? You'd have to show genuine remorse and that you had rehabilitated.

yes. many job applications ask if you've ever been convicted and even though some of them say it doesn't matter.... would you hire a felon? or would you go with someone who hasn't been convicted?

Well if you are looking in the white collar field then because you have a reputation of not being trustful I would venture to say extremely hard. Your reputation if 50% of whatever skills you might bring to the table and because you have already shown that you cannot be trusted that is a hard bridge to overcome.

Most of them have gotten a job through the justice system that was punishing them.
Ask your parole officer .
They have places like that is for just that thing.
Good luck in your search.
