It varies from state to state, but I believe you have to have worked for the last 4 qtrs. at some job. It does not have to be the same job for all 4 qtrs. - just some type of employment. Information is gathered regarding your income over the last 4 qtrs. in order to determine your unemployment benefit. |

in Penna, they look at the earliest 4 of the 5 FULL calendar qtrs, so if you file for unemployment in March 09, they would look your wages from Oct 07-Sept 08. If you wait until April 1, 2009, they would look at Jan1-Dec 31 08 wages - no idea how Texas handles it - might be similar way |
