It depends on your employer's policy. They have no basis in Employment Law, they are a management tool.

From my experience its usually a year, but i think this varies from employer to employer, and depends on the severity of the offence and stage that the disaplinary is at(eg verbal, written etc).

3 Month for an oral, 6 month for a written normally.

It doesn't really matter, unless you intend doing something to attract further discipline.
