I am writing to my ex employers about a grievance and just wondered how long I have to give them before I seek legal advice? Thanks

if you sent the letter by post first class it only need max 2 days to arrive then give them max 2 days reviews your letter then 2 days to get respond from them by mail if they send it back first class so that is total of 6 days and in bad condition and delivery problem give it 7 working days. then seek legal advice . |

4 or 5 years should do.
this is an EX employer, they will most likely trash can your complaint I know I would.
I really don't care or concern my self with ex-employees |

Just the time it takes to go from the mail box where you posted the letter to the lawyers office. If you think you really have a case you probably should have contacted a lawyer before you sent the letter. |

Ditto WRG. Much atty time is wasted at client's expense trying to undo harm clients do to themselves and their claims when trying to avoid legal fees. If a claim is not worth pursuing, atty will usually tell you pretty fast and usually at no cost. Most will also tell you if you're able to represent yourself in the matter or if more is required. Why hesitate? You have nothing to lose - unless you gave something irretrievable away in your letter to employer. |
