There is no law requiring any hours to be given to an employee, and no law that designates and employee as full time anyway - that's a designation the employer might use, not a legal term. |

There is no federal law. Someone else said it varies from company to company, and that is true. The general acceptance of full time is 40 hours a week. Check with your HR department for the definition of full time. My company says full time is a minimum of 32 hours a week, but the average full time employee works 50 a week. |

In Canada its usually 35 hours upwards. Anything less than 35 is usually considered part time hours - but not always.
It can also depend on the employer because some employers will consider 30 or 32 hours to be full time (and be covered for benefits). |

40 hours. If that employee is to qualify for medical benefits. Some employers have full-time employees who work less than 40 hours so they don't have to pay them any kind of benefits.
