When I was a teenager, more than twenty years ago, I wrote a "bad" check. Because I was unaware of it until months later, I found out I had a warrant for my arrest. I turned myself in, was booked, released and given a court date. I was ordered to pay restitution and fines, that was it. Do I have to include this information today on an employment application?

this would probably never show up if a background check was done but..................
do you know what is worse then admitting to such a minor infraction from 20 years ago?
getting caught in a lie about such a minor infraction..........
if asked just be honest about it and take ownership.
explain what happened, what it cost you, what you learned and how it made you a better person and potential employee. |

It depends.
If you are convicted as a juvenile. Your file will be sealed after 18 years old. Then you don't have to disclose it.
If you are convicted as a capacity as an adult, then you have to do so. |

No, I wouldn't it's been so long it wouldn't really matter. Besides you paid the fine and squared up so your "debt is paid to society" I offer just the basics.. Where/When I worked and the address/phone of where I worked. Any other experience or volunteering is also good to put on a resume..
