While you are in high school, join the debate club. It teaches you to argue both sides of an issue. If you have a special interest in a substantive area (like accounting or health care) get a university degree in that area. That will also help you eventually find a job in an area of interest to you. Since you can be admitted to law school with a university degree, you can have any major you want at uni.
You mention school in the UK but don't say where you are now. If you are in an EU country, that would be fine but if you are in the States, you will not be able to practice US law unless you have a law degree from an ABA-approved school (a few limited exceptions) and pass the state bar exam.
Good luck. |

I am not sure in England -- I personally would encourage you to contact a local law office and ask them what you can do.
Here in the states, you can participate in Law Day on 5 May 2008, (http://www.abanet.org/publiced/lawday/2007/home.shtml)
The ABA (American Bar Association -- basically a group that all Lawyers in America belong to) has a good site at www.abanet.org, and you can look up information on education from grade school up to law school.
Good luck. |

First, graduate from high school. Then get your undergraduate degree in either political science or administration of justice (if you are interested in criminal law). Then apply for law school. |
