How to find a job at a law firm as a paralegal student?

I'm currently a paralegal student and want to get some experience in a law firm. Do they ever hire paralegal students to help with cases or anything? Or are the only jobs available the ones that are posted online or in the newspaper?
How would I go about looking for a job at a law firm that doesn't have a job ad?

I'm not looking for a paralegal position, I'm just looking for some type of experience in a law firm to get my foot in the door.

There are definitely more jobs than there are advertised. The key is to keep looking and keep talking to people in that field. |

Does your school have a job placement program? You could try there.
Other than that, you won't be able to find a paralegal position as a student. Firms looks for paralegals with experience, and you don't even have your degree yet...
You might have to do what a lot of students do, take a lower position (i.e. legal secretary) until you get your degree.
**EDIT**
Then, like I said, look for a lower position like secretary, clerk or receptionist. |

You can call the office administrator directly by calling individual law firms from the phone book and asking for the administrator or office manager. They do hire paralegal students, but often on a more secretarial basis. You can also try to get jobs through employment or temp agencies, which can also be found in the phone book or yellow pages online.
