First of all you have do, is to have a law degree and super-specilisation in labour laws/ cyber laws/ intellectual property rights / human rights / business law / insurance laws.
At the same time your knowledge of legal english language and drafting skill should be proficient.
Better job prospects trying practicing for at least 3-5 years in High Court / Supreme Court / DRT- DRAT / CAT CJIT , JAT / TRAI, CLB/ SEBI and get experience in dealing with legal cases as well as international arbitration and conciliation. Practing in Criminal side will not help you in securing good careers in corporate sector.
The remuneration will certainly low in intial stages,
Choose good companies only for first jobs and do not compromise for lesser salary than expected.

It depends on what you mean by "legal job." If you mean, as a lawyer, you can go to law school and specialize in Corporate Law.
If you mean something like "legal assistant", "legal secretary", "paralegal", or something else that isn't a lawyer, you'll need to get the appropriate college training first, and then land yourself a low-level business posting.
"Corporate"-anything is just big business. Start work for a small business, that will give you progressively more experience as time goes on. Work on your references, and move up and up and up, switching companies when better opportunities come along.
Eventually, you'll get that posting you really want.
And don't rule out the Armed Forces. The Army is the biggest corporation of all. |
