Is it true that these cases are very hard to win if you feel you've been wrongfully terminated? Do attorneys take these cases on contingency...or are they 100% fee based?

Yes, they are hard to win, because 99% of the time, nothing illegal happened.
I have seen a ton of people claim on Y!A that they were wrongfully terminated....and they rarely are. |

Other than msn.com or the yellow pages, you can look in www.findlaw.com, or www.martindale.com
Findlaw.com will allow you to submit information about your case to attorneys and have them come to you.
As to it being on contingency - you need to work that out with the lawyer. Some may do contingency - they won't take the case pretty much until you prove to them that you do have a valid case. Some may do an agreement that is flat fee or hourly based, and some will do a combination of the two - a minimum per hour, but a percentage if they win. |

First thing you have to do is contact the EEOC. They will determine if you have the grounds to sue or not. They must approve it in order to continue (you have 180 days to do this.) It is a government agency so contacting them is free, and also required to start a lawsuit in the first place. |
