Hurt on the job?
Find answers to your legal question.

Hurt on the job?

I started a new job, in which I hurt my back. I had only worked for 3 days. The employer has a terrible history with employees, and I will be another... I went to the doc two days in a row for my back, but I only took one day off to go to the doc, and I got fired. Can I file a suit against this bi***? She is the reason I am hurting now. And yes, she fired me because I went to the doc. As fate would also have it, my husband and I were looking to buy a new house and I put her down on an app, but apparantly she told the mortagage company that I didn't work for her. What a COW!!! Can she get away with all this?

To answer your questions:

Yes, they can fire you. You are entitled to file a claim for w.comp. benefits to be treated for your injury.

Yes, she can tell a mortgage company you no longer work for them if that is true

You can file a workmen's comp claim and she will be responsible for your medical bills if you in fact were injured on the job. A lawsuit for firing you....don't think so. You can file a complaint with the Dept of Labor.

Possibly
But you can file for worker's compensation for your hurt back
It is illegal to fire some one for an injury on the job
you were in the probationary period

Consult the employment authorities or an attorney
