I feel for you. I used to be a hiring manager and I hated it when they wouldn't let me hire people because of that. I wish the government would pass a law for that to be considered discrimination, because I think it is. If someone has paid their dept to society, then they shouldn't be discriminated against. |

What kind of work are you interested in? are you in good health? What is your location, and do you want to stay there? I rode for a week with a Moving truck, and the driver had a dream of making work in the moving business for ex-cons who wanted to go straight. I don't know if his plan came together or not, and that was about 8 years ago. |

Try the construction field, they dont have alot of problems with a guys past. Whatever you do, try and do the right thing, dont fall back into whatever got you here, it will take alot of work on your part. And dont do drugs, construction companies do random checks.

There are businesses that are paid for hiring former inmates so your best bet is to contact United Way Agencies and/or the Department of Corrections for your state to identify them. There is life after prison. |

If you are a convicted felon, you did something bad. Any employer would wonder: can it happen again, and, 'I don't need that'. You would feel the same way.
So it is a matter of where you set your sights. There are jobs out there where your record doesn't matter (labor positions, landscape companies, etc) Check the want ads daily and apply often and don't let yourself get discouraged. ... elventuall y some one will conside r you. If that happens, keep your nose clean, work hard and good things will happen for you. |

Just simply lie they actually have companies that you can pay to make up false resumes for people like you. Its not against the law to lie and whats the worse thats going to happen theyll find out and fire you. hey if you get a year in it beats no money at all |
