I'm a second-career lawyer, solo-practitioner in upstate NY and?

I'm thinking about moving home to San Antonio, TX. As I must practice four years to waive into the Texas Bar I am considering a position as in-house counsel. Currently I practice criminal, family law, civil litigation and some contract work. My law degree is from Syracuse and I also hold an MPA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to law I have worked as a Political Science lecturer, Policy Planner, Program Administrator for a non-profit and a Political Consultant/Speechwriter. Question: How can I best position myself to be attractive to the in-house market in SA? Other than sending out resumes I have no idea to proceed. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Last I looked, it was five years to waive in to Texas, and that five years was licensed and practicing in another state. I don't know that being in-house in Texas is going to do it.
You need to talk to one of the nationwide recruiting firms. I don't think there's really that many for lawyers. LegalAuthority is one, they can probably help you formulate a good plan. |
