I'm a single mother of two.?

I've lost a job after 16 years working for the company.
My question is there is a low protecting single mothers from lay offs?

Unfortunately, no there is no law protecting single mothers from layoffs. There are government programs to help single mothers who are without employment. You should contact your local unemployment office for information about how to get a new job and what you can do while you are unemployed to help you take care of your children. You should be able to get free healthcare for them while you are unemployed and possibly help with food and housing.
