Unless your contract specifically says you have to inform them of a bankruptcy, you don't. No one will tell them as long as you keep it quiet.

Good luck! :)

Depends on which chapter you filed -- if you did Chapter 13, the payments will likely be garnished from your wages.

If you did Chapter 7, your employer may not discover your situation.

If you are in England or Wales it is quite likely the OR will contact your employer. If you go bankrupt your tax code will be zero as any payments for tax will be paid to the OR during your bankruptcy.

You need some professional advice, firstly from your union and secondly from an insolvency practitioner.

No. My friend is a nurse and went bankrupt last year...she never told her employers...it's your private affairs....doesnt affect your ability to maintain your clients affairs. Only if you were charged with fraud or something would they have to know.

unless there is a clause in ur work contract that requires u to state it - don't.
u would be surprised who is declaring BK.
suggest u visit daveramsey.com to learn some lessons from others mistakes and ways to help u through this.

No, you are under no obligation to disclose that to your employer.

However, if you change jobs and you handle client's money, they may run a credit check on you.

Hi - check your contract. You only need to tell them if it states in their.
If it doesnt you have to ask yourself should you inform your employer anyway. So if this is every raised you can state you have informed your employer.
They might be aware of any financial difficulty you are in if a court order has put an attachment to earnings on you through your payroll.

There are other options rather than going bankrupt, such as a debt management plan or IVA. Talk to the Citizans advice beaureu for btter advice.

If you go bankrupt your employer will have to be told.
