If you are receiving Social Security Disability benefits, you are entitled to a 9-month trial work period. If you earn over $700 a month gross, it will count as a trial work month. After you have used all 9 months (not necessarily 9 in a row), Social Security will evaluate your work. If you are earning over $980 a month gross, your benefits will stop. You will be paid for the 9 month trial work period, the first month you earn over $980 and the next two months for a total of 12 months. During the next 36 months if you continue to be disabled, you will be paid for any month you do not earn $980. |

you can work and as long as you follow certain rules your benefits will remain the same. this program even allows you to have a sizable income and still receive all benefits while you are seeing if you can work again.
