I am confused about at will and fired for misconduct...as it relates to Unemployment Benefits?

I asked my employer why i was fired all she told me was at will
But she contested my benefits for Unemployment and told them i was fired for misconduct
Is it possible that she told the Unemployment Commission that I was fired I at will FOR misconduct or is it a case where she has to tell them it was one or the other??
im just trying to figure out if she is lying to either them or me!
(she fired me out of the blue and i am still clueless as to why, i think she just didnt like me personally)
Additional Details
I am scheduled to participate in a fact finding interview on the 29th of this month so they can determine if I will get my benefits

If they do not have documentation where they gave you a warning, or write up, then you should be able to fight it. I would request a copy of your employee file; which you have a legal right to, right away. If they have no documentation of your misconduct, you are on the winning side. |

Just stay the course and don’t give up it make take more than 2 months but you will get that check employers need to fire people a certain way most of the time you can get your check just believe |

Tell the truth and you will come out ahead. They are experts in the field and they can tell if you are not telling the truth.
No one gets fired just because, think back what did you do or did not do that she got mad about. How many times did she warm you about something and you did not change.
Did you go to work loaded? Where you using foul language in the work area?

Lol... well... 'At will' means you live in a state where they don't have to give you 2 weeks. I lived in Washington State and Washington is an 'at will' state. Misconduct is simply the 'why', not the 'how'. 'At will' is the 'how'. So.... they fired you 'at will'...(meaning they can at any time...even if they just don't want you anymore) and their reason for why was Misconduct, which means they s.crewed your unemployment benefits...... It happens. If you didn't do anything and they had no proof, then I'd fight it... in my opinion. |
