I am getting paid under minimum wage. Please Helps?

I only been working for this company for 3 weeks. I got my pay first check for 38 which was 222.34 after taxes But before taxes taken out my gross was 259.00 (round up. I divided my gross pay by the hour i work I came up with 6.81,which minimum wage in illinois is 7.75. I was wondering if I can sue the for anything since i only been working there for a short time? if so what can i go after? Please help!!!!!!! also on our check the pay rate isn't stated is that legal to?

Depends on your age. Illinois law allows employers to pay less than the set minimum wage to employees that are under 18.

There are certain instances where they do not have to pay you minimum wage, if you are a:

1. Commissioned employee
2. Tipped employee
3. Salaried employee

Are you sure that this check was for 38 hours? It's common when yoiu are paid hourly for there to be a delay in payment.

How old are you? There are different rules depending on age.

And do you get tips? Tipped employees have a different minimum wage for base pay, although they are required ro report their tips to their employer and the total has to come to the regular minimum.

They don't have to show the pay rate on your check stub.

What did they tell you the pay would be, when they hired you? And have you asked them why it's less than minimum?

Nobody is answering this guys question...I know what ur saying buddy...Your pay stub is showing u make min wage but u are actually making less...I am looking into the same thing u are.....u are being taxed on min wage , not being taxed on what u really make which is less
