To practice law in the US with a foreign law degree, you will need to enroll in a 1-year Master of Laws (LLM) program at a US law school. This will give you a foundation in areas of law that are different in the US from Brazil, such as civil procedure and constitutional law. Once you graduate, you can take the bar exam in one of the US states that allows foreign lawyers to sit. The most popular are New York and California. After you pass the bar exam, you are licensed in that state and you are regarded as a lawyer no different than someone who went to university in the US. Unless you have your LLM and pass the bar exam, the only legal services work you can do in the US is to be a paralegal or law office clerk. You might be able to work for a corporation (not a law firm) as in-house counsel, but even then there may be registration requirements.

You may be able to work as a paralegal in a law firm until you are prepared to sit for the bar.

Only if you find a company who will sponsor you and give you a work permit.

There are 2 different types of work permit

- temporary work permit such as H1B visas that will allow you to work for a limited time in the US (for H1B, 3 years and renewable for another 3 years)

- employment immigration which often requires going through the Dept of Labor certification - a much longer process (can sometimes take to 6 years or more) but it leads to green card or permanent residency

Then of course to practice law, you need to pass the state licensing boards and other requirements (foreign education accreditation, TOEFL, etc)

So start finding a US employer (or just marry a US citizen - that's often the fastest way foreigners can be allowed to work in the US)

you need to go back to law school for a bit and then sit for the bar exam to be an attorney. maybe it maybe easier to work in an organization that has work in brazil so u can double dip.
