Paralegal (usually an associates degree is enough, you'd work with attorneys doing research, writing, preparing for court) or Parole Officer (usually a Bachelors in something like Crim Justice, Psychology, Sociology) |

No, you don't have to become a lawyer to become a guardian ad litem. In fact, just about anyone can become appointed.
You could become a paralegal, or a court reporter, or a legal secretary, etc. Or, get into the criminal aspect of law- CSI, etc.
A guardian Ad Litem is just someone whom is appointed to represent someone (under aged) who is either mentally challenged, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to represent his or herself in court.
There are lots of other options, too. |

There are lots of legal careers that don't require you to be a lawyer. Guardian Ad Litem is one of them. in fact they often hold training classes to become one held by the county. Contact your county's program to find out. |

-police officer
-fbi
-csi
-prision guard
-forensic science
-homeland security
-security guard
