I have many sick days left over and am quitting next week(with a four week notice). Are my employers legally obligated to pay me those days I have accumulated?

does your employer have seperate plans for sick time and vacation time?
if the employer uses "paid-time-off" that includes vacation, sick days, holidays, personal days etcetera all rolled into one program, as many employers now do, then in California all the days you have accrued must be paid out at seperation.
if the employer has seperate plans for vacation and other paid time off then only vacation must be paid out.

No. Sick leave is a use it or lose it. Some places will pay but only upon retirement. |

Sick pay is a benefit offered by the employer, and is not regulated by any agency.
If they say in the company employee manual that they will pay you for accumulated sick hours, then you can force the issue.
I have never heard of a company paying sick time, upon resignation, or termination. |

No, they aren't legally required to pay you for accumulated paid time off, just for hours actually worked. Many employers will pay accrued vacation, but few pay for accrued sick time. |

No because sick time is only used when your sick or need a day off. With that being said your out of luck, you cannot collect the money from the sick days you have left. |

Some states require unused vacation time to be paid. Sick time is not payable unless you are SICK. |

Good try but, no. Sick leave is more of a perk than a guarantee from your employer. Use them before you go. |
