Generally if an employer suspends an employee with pay, it is because there is an investigation going on. There is no law that covers how long the suspension needs to last. If you are not with a union you are considered an 'at will' employee and can be fired for just about anything except discrimination (see www.eeoc.gov).

You should talk to the Human Resources Dept at your employers to see what happens next, they may be able to explain what is happening and what you can do. If there is an investigation, you may be questioned about the incident. If you did not do what you were accused of you may want to speak with the people who are doing the investigation, to present your side.

If you are dealing with someone else's medications and have such a poor knowledge of the English language you should not be working at that job at all. If it's your own you shouldn't be taking medications on the job either. You should check with unemployment about the issue because they can help you more than someone on Y!A.

Maybe you were suspended with "medication issue" because over the past 7 months you have had a number of 'medical problems' inlcuding:

Hurt middle finger
Thyroid problems
Eating disorder
Stomach aches/pains
Conjunctivitis
Abnormal bleeding from period
Needle in knee
Headaches
Scaphoid bone broken
Difficulty breathing
Hit your head
Hole in gums
Pain in leg
Ingrown toenail
Tender/sore skin
Trapped nerve
Lump in breast

Now I'm not sure if you're going to the doctor for all of these things because you need attention, but it is not normal to have all of these medical issues within the past 7 months. If you're taking too much time off of work for these so called medical emergencies that might have something to do with your suspension at work. You might actually have something called Hypocondria where you think you are always ill. I would look into it.

Depends on what it is that they have. Most employers have it written into their 'rules' that they can terminate employment without having a reason. Most of these employers are in a 'right to work state'. It sounds like you are unaware of whatever information they may or may not have. If you were suspended, you should have been told for how long. At the end of the suspension they must either extend the suspension, terminate, or let you return to work.

No, don't get a lawyer. That'll cost you a fortune. Go to your State Employment office and ask these questions of them. They know the rights of the employer and rights of the employee. Meanwhile, I'd start looking for another job. Think about it. Do you really want to go back there?
