Have you analysed what the problem is, or where it is?

*Less than 1 interview in 10 applications = either you are applying for the wrong type of jobs, or have a fundamental failure in your CV

*Rejected at interview for jobs you know you should be getting = failure in interview technique

Pick jobs you are wholly qualified for, and make sure you include a Cover Letter

Good Luck!

with this tough economy, the employer is in the drivers seat when finding new talent. Try to stand out and don't give up keep job searching.

welcome to the club dude.

I applied at all kinds of places this summer and never got hired, even haad a few interviews.

i'm 29 years old and i work at this crappy craft store for 8.50 an hour. about 20 to 25 hours per week.

I also have a ton of solid work experience.

You have to call these places back and find out the hiring mgr.s name and call them like a week after you turned in your application.

the wrost they can say is no.

the economy is at it's worst in 26 years.

I live i oregon and the unemployment rate is 10.8%

The country is in a recession.
At a time of economic meltdown, employers can be picky when it comes to who they employ. More CVs being handed out = more competition between the unemployed.

Good luck, though. I've given up.

In this economy I would try everything. I would post my resume online on all major websites and even on the new ones like www.resumark.com, which actually helped me to find a job (Retail Store Manager).

There's a good book: 'Great answers to tough interview questions' by Martin John Yate, that will really help. Also, do some voluntary work at a charity shop to get yourself acquainted with workplace etiquette and something to add to your CV that will look good.

Best of luck

Have you heard about that guy who stood out in the streets and held a sign that said "I NEED A JOB" then his phone number. The next day he got hired.

I know how you feel but just keep trying. I became unemployed just after new year and emailed my cv to about 10 companies per day and joined every staff agency there is. I only heard back from 3 of them and went for the interviews and was offered all 3, I picked the best one but financially it has been terrible, I started new job 2 weeks ago and my benefits stopped instantly and don't get paid until 27th March, thank goodness for my mum, Keep trying a job will come along when you least expect it, you will probably be young, I got a job and I am 52 years old.

Ineed2work
I am finding this period in my life quite hard as I recently moved to Wales to be closer to Family. I have served 18 years (Army) trained in Computer Maintenance and worked for approx 5 years in the retail sector as an installer of computer based equipment, then trained as a Plumber and Electrician and as I am 52 find it difficult to find any work what so ever, I have applied for many jobs with not one interview offered, now thinking I am umemployable without any further training. If there is anyone out there with any good ideas I thank you in advance if you could share please.
