I don't know what this means. Too many big words. Please help asap! ?

ok i have to sign this letter written by a lawyer for someone but i have no idea what it's about. I have to sign it today and turn it in but i don't want to sign it if it's something bad. i can't understand what it says. There is too many big words. Here is what the top says:
WAIVER OF SERVICE OF NOTICE OF PETITION FOR DISCHARGE; WAIVER OF FINAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTING; AND RECEIPT OF WARD AND CONSENT TO DISCHARGE.

the lawyer told me if i sign it i get my share of the money on the house we just sold but the lawyer isn't mine. he works for my mom so he could be lieing. please translate what that means.

so i am not a lawyer, this is just an educated guess:

waiver = giving up your right to something

WAIVER OF SERVICE OF NOTICE OF PETITION FOR DISCHARGE- you are giving up a right to petition for a discharge or to be notified if a petition is submitted.

WAIVER OF FINAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTING- you are giving up the right to receive a final report and a detailed list of all the accounting/financial matters that were handled.

RECEIPT OF WARD AND CONSENT TO DISCHARGE- you give your consent to discharge ____________ (whatever is being talked about). Ward usually means someone in custody of you or the state (like a child) so I don't know how that plays into this.

Again, this is a best guess. My biggest concern would be waiving the right to the accounting which means you won't be allowed to see where money was spent or what it was spent on. I bet that in your area is a competent but cheap lawyer that could read it over you and explain it for a small fee.

You better hire your own representation. I don't know what this is about, but if someone else in this transaction has a lawyer, perhaps you should have someone looking out for your own best interests too.

well this probably isn't the answer your looking for. but if your trying to read something complicated like that. just break it down piece by piece.

If you don't understand what you're supposed to be signing, and if you don't trust the lawyer who is telling you to sign it, then ASK ANOTHER LAWYER.
