I'm having a difficult decision figuring out what I want to do as a career. I am very interested in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; shows such as Lockup on MSNBC definitely keep my interest! I also love Forensic Investigators, however I am not very good in the sciences. I want to perhaps work with correction and decreasing drug use and gang violence. In the past, I’ve worked at the District Attorneys Office, my plans of going to law school kind of faded away though, is there any other career option that may suit my interest besides being a prosecutor? As of now, I’m working on my Masters in Public Admin.

try psycholgy. you could be a counselor in corrections and rehabillitation. if you are a people peron and like helping others, you may want to look into it. |

Become a probation officer, That kind of is in the middle. You help keep people straight, If they don't you get to send them back to Jail. |

Is there any way you could organise a short period of work experience in a potentially interesting field so you can see if it's for you or not? Beware of shows glamourising the world of forensics as I read that in the uk there is a surge of students choosing such subjects at a-level only to find that there is very little demand for them on the job market.
Courses in sociology or psychology might help. |
