I feel so.. worried. any help?

Okay.. I was going to a local cubfoods to grab my grandma a newspaper and I saw a guy who left his wallet there.. I took it and put it in my pants then took it back out...because I was like "Think about he feels.... He lost his wallet.... with credit cards whats he gonna do?.." then He came back and was like "Hey did you find my wallet and I gave it back to him. I felt really guilty for even thinking about stealing it. But when I looked to my left when I bought the newspaper I saw some lady watching me. I think she saw the whole thing. So right now i'm scared that they might call the police on me even though I corrected myself.

Also I told him, "Next time don't keep your visas in there." and walked out. I'm scared seriously guys. I know I did wrong and I corrected myself. Would that be enough to go away without haveing anything on my record?

Relax, you did the right thing by returning it. If they ask say that you intended to drop it off at local post office or that you was going to give it to the mailman. Just because you put in your pocket doesn't mean that everyone knows what your intention were. Stop driving your self nuts. There not going to arrest for returning a wallet. There not going to question you if you returned the wallet.

I don't believe he can do anything after the fact. You should be scared if you took something.

you have a lot of nerve stealing his wallet and telling him not to keep his visas in there.

it's his wallet and he has the right to keep his visa in his wallet. why should he fear a petty theif such as you . truth be know, if the lady had not seen it, you probably would have stolen the wallet ? i really don't buy that you had a change of heard and corrected yourself ... you had a change in heart because you calculated the risk and thought about doing some time / having a record. i do not buy for a second your guilt about stealing it.

what you probably did not realize is that you are candid camera and the parking lot probably has cameras / license plates.

hopefully , for your sake, the matter will end here. but i do hope you learn from this. a possiblity / though i'd guess slight does exist.

crime does not pay. i think you need to go to the church of your choice and try to develop some morals.

you owe the man an apology / not a reprimend for keeping credit cards in his wallet. lucky that i'm not a judge judy lol.

you are worried because you fell guilty. the cops could not do anything worse to you than your guilty conscience will.

Wow, look at this as a lesson. Without intention, you have tested your own morals and even though you ended up making the right choice, you feel guilty. Consider yourself in the clear, unless of course your took something. And the next time you face temptation immediately do the right thing. You'll feel good about yourself for being an upstanding human being.

You ended up doing the right thing. Don't worry about the lady who was watching you.

No you won't get in trouble. The man got his wallet back when he asked for it. As for the lady who saw you, it might be a little awkward if you ever see her again, lol.

But don't worry, you didn't do anything wrong. You just had an evil thought for a second but you corrected yourself.

jpferrierjr
how old are you?

you sound about 13.

If you didn't steal anything, you're not in trouble.

Do you have the wallet?
no

You're in the clear.

Oh, and wallets are made to hold credit cards, so, that's where you put them. So that way you won't lose them.

If you are at home typing on your computer, then aren't you safe? Does he have your name?

You'll be fine, if you can prove that you didn't take anything you'll be fine. Also, I doubt anybody will contact you, it wasn't a big deal. Don't worry about it, you can't do anything just sit tight and go along with your normal activities.
