I got a dui but it will not go down as a conviction can i still be hired as a police officer?

I got the dui and was taken in but not officially arrested and i did diversion so the dui will not go down as a conviction and i got a reckless driving but that will be dropped because i did community service and i am an college right now and when it happened to be a police officer. It happened over a year ago what are my chances of working in a police department in oregon

Thank God you're in Oregon... far away from my police departments.

unless you have a serious change in your attitude, it won't matter which side of the badge your on, because you still won't have any respect for the law. And, by the way, community service is still considered punishment for a conviction of reckless driving. These things are still on the record.

they can see if you were ever arrested anywhere in the country, you will have to take your chances

I would get an investigator to go back and check your background record because I would doubt that your DUI would be off your record...judges are under extremely high pressure to make them stick ESPECIALLY with college students.

Yes, you were officially arrested...they don't necessarily have to take finger prints and pictures to arrest you....a speeding ticket is technically an arrest...that is why you are required to sign it..

So, if you don't think you were arrested (when you were), then I highly suspect you misunderstood the "deal"
