I just got fired from my job. I was working for 1 month at a fast casual resturant which was only been opened for 1 month. It was my review day, i was mainly working on the flattop, but they made me work on the grill whcih i only had 7hrs of training on that. I was doing great, but when the resturant became busy, the manager decide to turn ON the other half of the grill, which was off. When he did it was HOTTER then the one i been working. So i started grilling some ribs, ( iwasn't aware that the grill was hotter) the ribs got burnt, the manager got angry, i coped the sh*t. When i went to throw the ribs out, i saw the manager turn down the grill, as if he did it purpose. Next day he call saying i did bad!!! I made one mistake and he said i did bad. Anyway he said he give me second chance. All i had to do was some test, which i did and give it to him. A week later i asked whats happening with my shift. He then said im fired, that i dnt belong there. I NEVER GOT MY 2nd CHANCE!!! what i believe, the real reason i got fired is because they not getting much customers. When i work for 4 hrs, i would only make 30 burgers max. They weren't making much profit, and not getting any customers, So they decide to fire me, just using the ribs as an excuse. Can i do anything bout it or should i just leave. Im just worry when i apply for new jobs, they look at my resume, call up the manager and ask why i got fired. Is there anything i can do?

Well, as a lot of us are, you're going to have to learn to accept that we're in an economic crisis. Some business, in a feeble attempt to prevent bankruptcy, fire staff on false pretenses to save a little bit of money. These times aren't going to be easy for anyone. There's not a lot you can do about this, I'm sorry. |

Fair or not, it wasn't illegal to fire you, and there's nothing you can do about it but just move on. |

If you are in the US, and are in a work at will job (which most restaurant jobs are) then you can leave, or be fired for any reason or no reason at all. If the business wasn't doing well, then burning ribs doesn't make sense - it's just waste.
I wouldn't put it on my resume and would move on to bigger and better things. |

Legally you employer can't say why you got fired but it sounds as though they we're having financial problems and with you and the manager having personal problems you made yourself a quick fix to their money problems
Since you were only there a month I wouldn't bother to put it on my resume I'd just move on |
