Easy, you go for an associates in paralegal studies at a community college, the same as you'd do if you'd majored in anything else in college. Actually, a lot of these programs require a Bachelor's first, so you're good to go (and if the colleges don't require it, the law firms will). And yes, agree with the above, the ABA cert is a good idea. |

I have a BA in a liberal arts area. I am starting school next week for my paralegal certification. I will be going part-time at night for 2 years, which includes an internship. This is an ABA-approved course at a community college; the BA is required.
You definitely want an ABA-approved school. Avoid online/tech schools/short-term programs. The one thing you should be aware of is that the law firms want experience, no matter what, so upon graduation, you will have to start out in an entry-level job or in a very small firm, providing someone gives you a chance. The schools won't tell you this, but I have done a lot of research. Experience is necessary.
You may want to try getting into a law firm now, so you can start gaining the experience. I know that paralegals do not have to have a certificate, but it is definitely necessary in order to keep your job options open-always.
