Last year i got a misdemeanor for theft. It was a very minor theft. I want to apply for a job at TCF and being a teller. In the application I put in the truth about when it asked me if i had a misdemeanor. Do i have any chances of getting an interview or do I automatically get eliminated. My gfs cousin is a branch manager at TCF and he said he will try to help me get the job but he doesnt know about my misdemeanor. help help!

It isn't likely, but while you're waiting for an answer, why not apply for other jobs? It will keep you busy, build your confidence, and you might find a job you'd like better anyhow. |

Its not that its a misdemeanor, its that its for theft. You dont have a shot in the world. Its a bank and you were arrested for theft. Thats like a person who is arrested for arson trying to get a job as a fireman. It just wont work. Try making money on the internet or apply somewhere else that doesnt involve quite as much money as a bank. |

Ekamai is right. You'll never clear the criminal record check even if it was petit theft.
A bank isn't going to hire a known thief. Think about it. |
