I have been offered a part time job but have to commit for 6 months?

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think its fair? What can they do if you decide to pull out before the 6 months are up?

Is there a proposed contract that they have given you? If yes- the contract should state the any penalties imposed on you for "early termination". Frankly- unless they are paying you a signing bonus or some other monetary incentive- I do not see what they could do if you were to leave.

It is just like a contract and if u r agree then sign it. It is the policy of employer. He will make expence on u after joining at's why he want to sure that u will serve him at least 6 month.

It's just contracted work isn't it? Which means if you do decide to leave you would just have to work your notice - which would generally be the length of time based on your pay, so a month for monthly pay or a week for weekly pay.
