My boss is still paying me but is encouraging me to file for disability. I cannot walk right now due to tumor in hip but I could get better. What should I do?

Depend on your situation!
If you think you still can do your job, do it.
But make sure, that is no harm for your health.
I hope you should get better!!
Because my sister in law got bone cancer in her leg about sixteen year old, she still recovers and has 2 lovely babies.

by all means apply for disability, have your doctor write a letter, you can apply on line, and when (not IF) you get better you can unapply, its your right to get the disability |

Apply for disability and work until the process starts. follow the rules, keep working if you need the money to support yourself. |

your boss is right file for diasability. There is a time line you must work with and it is in your best interest to file now just in case later! |

What I would do is wait till I get better and then go back to work! And maybe you should file for disability if it is interfering with your daily lifestyles. |

First thing to do is get better.
Second thing is to see which option pays more - disability or staying on leave or whatever your boss has you on. I wouldn't do any work, don't wear yourself out, you need all your strength.
Don't worry about what they want you to do, having cancer is hard enough on the mind, but can be even harder on the bank account. My uncle had cancer and it was $50 per pill and he needed two everyday.
