You have a professional obligation to disclose that type of information to prospective employers so that they can make an informed decision about hiring you. Although not every employer will hire you knowing the truth, building trust up front will go a long way to proving your credibility. |

If they ask, then of course you admit to them. They normally don't ask about misdemeanors though. |

Your best bet is to always disclose them on your application. I have had to "rescind" many job offers due to the fact that the applicant lied on his application and/or falsifying or down playing the convictions. Just tell the truth and look into getting them expunged from your record (depending on where you live). It is good to mention that on your application too. |

Most any reputable employer is going to do a background check. Whatever is on record, will be found. So, then whatever the truth is, state it on your application. I would not volanteer this information on an "approach" letter or on a resume, but when it gets down to the bottom line, They will find out. |
