I just found my Job Posted online. Can they do that?

I just found my Job Posted online. Can my Boss look to replace me like that without firing me? Or warning me?

Yes they can. From experience, one of my co-workers found her job posted online and asked mangement about it, they in return fired her.
If you are in California, employment is "at will" and the employer does not need a reason to terminate you, but they cannot terminate for illegal reasons, such as discrimination.

I would ask your boss about it, and what is going on, but be prepared, because you are going be be asked "were you looking for a job? how did you find it? are you job hunting?" something along that line.

How long have you been at your job? (And please tell me you're not job hunting while you are at work)

Yes and be sure when they find someone they probably won't give you notice. I would make sure you have a copy of the posting so they can't say we had to fire him unexpectedly for cause.

He really should have warned you. I would ask about it. Look for an other job and put a 2 wks notice on line or just put on line, I Quit do to the fact you were going behind my back to replace me.

unfortuanately they can but if you have been there for at least 3 months or 6 mos it is harder to do. And once again depends on the state. Some states like NY can hire and or fire you with any or no reason at any time, but that has legalities with the dept of labor too. Best thing to do is go under www.labor.state.employment.us and see how the states guidlines are set. They cannot just fire you normally.
