I live in Wisconsin was injured on the job They are paying me less pay till I can do my work can they do that?

I install hardwood floors & my boss is mad that I got hurt. I have been released to do one handed work which cannot be done when installing floors so he is making me stuff envelopes and walk door to door putting these flyiers on houses. He also is paying my just a little over half of what I normally get. This is not what I was hired to do and he is pulling this on me. Is this legal?

My understanding is that they have to provide you with a job. Not the job you were in if you can not physically do it. Check into worker's compensation for the difference. If you are on his payroll, he is required to carry worker's comp insurance.

Yeah it's called workman's comp.

no! file workmans compensation, bring in medical documents to stating ur injuries, it will take a few months before u will get compensated. also supply copies of the incident documented by your company and other employees who witnessed it.

I dont think he can pay you less..He can give you a different job to do that fits with what you are able to do until the doc releases you to full duties i dont thiink you can file workmans comp if the doc released you to work except with that hand. Call the employment board about the pay however.
