and would like to work in a school i have passed my college courses and just need a job now will my criminal record affect me? i have theft and assault nothing to do with children. and really love working with children.

Schools have very strict protocol when hiring employees. Looking at your charges would not be able to work in the school because of the theft and assault charges.

the U.S has this equal opportunity law. No one is above it so they have to give you a chance and if you can prove that you have had good behavior since that time then you should be good.

Cubs Girl's response is right on, especially the assault issue really does not qualify you to work with children and especially those who are unruly.
