I need a lawyer is anyone a lawyer?
Find answers to your legal question.

I need a lawyer is anyone a lawyer?

I went to lunch today and got a southern style chicken sandwich from McDonalds, took a bite and realized that the chicken was completely raw.

Now I don’t have lots of money, how much would it cost to try to sue McDonalds!

Does anyone know of a lawyer that would take on a case probono?

Ok I seem to have a few negative answers, do you guys understand that raw chicken can kill people, I am a nursing mother I just pray it doesn't harm my child. Take a look...

Do an internet search online for Legal Aid in ____ (your city).
Talk to them. They may not consider it if you did not get sick from it. Since you are a nursing mother I'd think it's very important to find out from a doctor as well.

I don't think that "people like you" give the legal system a bad name, I think lawyers are the ones that give the system a bad name by defending people like child-rapists instead of women who are or could be in danger. You have every right to be concerned with the health of your breast milk.

Yeah, the court system will probably tear you down about what loss or damage you suffered and laugh you right out of there. But in my opinion if this place is doing that bad that they're handing out raw food then something's wrong with them not you. And if you get no where with it legally then call the local news stations and tell them they're delivering raw chicken of all things to breast-feeding mothers. Maybe if they'd stop hiring children to work for them, the place would actually be clean and healthy.
Also, if that sandwich was bought for a child, bought through thte drive-thru and handed into the back seat, the child would've eaten this sandwich not really knowing what was wrong with it and very well could've died. Hopefully you kept this sandwich and didn't hand back your evidence. Sueing them will teach them a lesson not to let such a drastic mistake happen again.

And one more thing: why would any REAL lawyer spend their spare time on a site like this? Honestly?!

I'm a lawyer. This is ridiculous. People like you give the legal field a bad name.

Also, to find out if someone wants to take your ridiculous case, you need to say where you are.

In order to successfully pursue a claim like this, you would need to show some element of damages. Did you get sick, or are you just upset that you could have gotten sick? Did you actually consume the raw chicken, or did you spit it back out? Did you have any medical treatment or psychological treatment because of this? Aside from that, did you file a complaint with the store or save the raw chicken as evidence?

You can't sue someone simply because of what COULD have happened. I could be hit by that blue car that's parked across the street, but unless it actually happens, I have no viable case.

Cases like this (which would be an injury case) would be taken on a contingency fee basis, meaning you pay the attorney a percentage of what you win or settle for (usually this is around one-third of your award). It would be handled pro bono in a sense, but you ultimately owe them a fee if you win; if you lose, you are only responsible for costs.

Here is the problem with your claim:

Were you injured?
Did you suffer an illness?
Did you go to see a DOCTOR?
Do you STILL HAVE the chicken sandwich? (frozen).

If the answers to your question are no, you can always sue (any attorney will be happy to take your mone), but your chances of collecting is extremely slim.

Oh go take the sandwich and show it to the manager at that McDonalds. If your claim is genuine I'm sure he will give you another one or give you a coupon for one. Good grief.

You should have gone back and complained. I think you want hundreds of pounds in damages for the trauma. If you lose it will cost about £200 per hour for your and their lawyer plus out of pocket expenses

No lawyer would take that case pro bono. You may be able to find one who will take it on contingency (costs you nothing, but he takes half the money). But truly, I think you'd have a hard time finding a lawyer to take this case even if you paid him. If you weren't hurt, there isn't enough money involved to make it worth it to sue.

As plus pointed out--even when you have a real case, you don't always win a fair settlement. Getting money without damages is really rare, as few judges like to be the idiot that allows that to happen.

uhmm im not a lawyer and i dont know one...but id ont think you can sue them unless you got really really sick...besides it couldnt be raw they pre cook the food....but i could be wrong...what i would do is call the health department on them...even though you didnt get sick you have a right to call the health dept. they could get in trouble

goto legal aid. But you would have a better case if you actually ate the sandwich and got sick, with hospital records and all. My mother sued McD's for a slip and fall acident, and it took approx 3 years for them to settle, and all she could get from them was 10k. After 3 years of legal fees and physio, ten thou aint much..

You've got to be kidding me? What are you going to sue them for? What was lost?

If you went to court...yes you can file it...however, most likely it will be tossed out as there was no loss incurred....Learn the constitution....take a civics class.

Additionally, most lawyers do not work pro-bono (not probono). And there are lawyers that take cases on a contigency...NOT FREE!

"raw chicken can kill people" - however, you are not dead. Therefore it did not kill you. It has not killed you and most likely will not kill you. Therefore, you can not get paid as if you were killed.

Sometimes cr@p happens and you don't get paid for it. Sorry but you don't have a case and most likely a lawyer is not going to take your case without you paying a big retainer up front.

Clueless
I'm not a lawyer and what I would suggest is that you take the raw chicken sandwich and shove it straight down your own throat. Really, what damages did you incur? Were you tramatized by the experience or was that more from daddy sneaking in your bedroom at night? Were you injured by the sandwich? How about you get an education so you can get a job instead of worrying about who you can sue instead of being a waste of my air.

DeathStalker
you still have a peace of that raw chicken?

LolaMola
I would STRONGLY suggest looking up local lawyers. You can call and speak to someone about your issue. Since YOU were endangered, and McDonalds is at fault you should not have to pay for your lawyer. AND most likely since McDonalds has millions of dollars they will offer you a settelment for big bucks to stay quiet and to not go to the media!
Good luck!

Chances are you won't even make it to court and McDonald's probably won't even pay you anything.

what proof do you have that you didn't order it raw?
frankly, i think you made the whole thing up and should be sued by mcdonald's
