Antway what we call a criminal record here is no barrier to employment, if you have paid the fine.
That is sensible UK law
It is forgotten, water under the bridge etc, if you have said sorry you made a mistake, paid the price, so no dark stain on your character.
This surely is how it should be.
We all make mistakes, and if they fall outside the law of the land, so be it, but you are not branded as a habitual law-breaker, so not excluded from employment.

I'm sorry to hear that.
That is discrimination. However, its not easy to prove you didn't get the job because of your felony and the person they did hire may be more qualified for the job. Anyway I have a few family members in the same situation and even one who has had thier felony sealed.
Jobs that will hire.
1. Tax preparer (liberty give free tax courses the others require a $150.00 fee for them to train you)
eg. Liberty, Jackson Hewitt, H&R Block, etc
2) Drug and alcohol abuse counselors (get your casac certificate and do the internship)
3)Cable technician (just got hired in my family) working with corbel for cablevison. Look them up. Corbel or other cable and satelite techs.
4)Maintenance worker
5) start a community college get your AS or BA,BS. It will help. Plus you get to take out school loans. You must attend a loan workshop. up to 50,000 you can use the loans anyway you please but its financial Aid. keep your GPA atleast 2.0 in order to get financial Aid.
